£400,000 win for former Royal Marine

Former Royal Marine Alan Mizon won £396,694 thanks to his late partner Diana, who bought the winning ticket before she died of cancer in July 2020.

Flippin’ heck ... t’s a miracle.

"Di would be absolutely over the moon. She got my Postcode Lottery ticket all sorted. She was the smart one. She’s looking out for me.

Alan met “love of his life” Di when he was a teenager.

He planned to use his winnings to return to their favourite holiday locations.

He said:

I've not been on holiday since Di passed away. I’d really like to go back to some of the places that we used to visit which hold so many great memories.

Kind-hearted Alan, who is blind, also planned to help a charity close to his heart.

I’m on the waiting list for a guide dog, which would really help me as I don’t see or walk very well, and they’d be a great companion. I’d like to give something to Guide Dogs, to help others like me.
